Salaries being hiked by 12%, says Finance Minister?

On the 26th of March the Indian Government Legislation Party passed a bill that all Indian employees working for private companies will receive an automatic 10% raise against any and all jobs.

The 2009 Conversion of Recession Bill, said that government employees would receive a 12% salary hike in an attempt to retain the top talent that were crucial to facilitating a smooth-running country.

When reached for confirmation, the Finance Minister of India, declined to comment.

Whether or not this is the case, any hike in salary upgradation and promotions finance-wise is much appreciated by the general public thanks to the steady decline in job market trends and otherwise.

Globally jobs are diminishing, in thousands of companies employees are being let go and internationally, salaries are getting slashed by percentages. We at TimesJobs would like to reassure you that yes, there is no place like home, and no place then that which is tried and proven.

Save your job in recession

Here are four ways to save your job in times of recession:

Update your skills

Keep building skills that add value to you as an employee. If your current job is not salvageable, no matter how many extra skills you have tallied up, then at least hunting for a new gig will become a whole lot easier with your bulked-up resume.

Network
Make a list of at least 10 business contacts and start locking in times to catch up. They might find you a brilliant new job sooner than expected, be able to help you out if things go bust at your current employer or, at the very least, be fun to have a drink with.

Keep an eye out
It pays to always be one step ahead of the game and, if you are going to have to start a job search, it’s good to be aware of what’s out there. That said; don’t jump too soon. If you know a new job could be waiting in the wings, it’s definitely worth picking up a solid redundancy payout on the way out the door.

Get a job where there is a skills shortage
Despite a slowdown in residential construction, builders, plumbers and other trades are still in high demand on commercial projects. Health and education are resilient regardless of economic growth or decline. Find your niche and stick to it!
